No bomb found after hospital evacuation

McCurtain Memorial Hospital employees and patients were evacuated during a bomb threat on Tuesday afternoon. (Staff photo)The Idabel Police Department has confirmed that no bomb was found at McCurtain Memorial Hospital on Tuesday after a threat was called in to the facility.

According to hospital officials a caller phoned the hospital around 2:45 p.m., that day, stating that a bomb was planted at the facility. Hospital officials said the caller made a demand and said that if it was not met, the bomb would be detonated.

Law enforcement was immediately notified and the hospital was evacuated, with patients moved to an offsite location. Multiple city, county and state agencies responded to the incident.

Idabel police stated that the hospital remained locked down for around two hours.

No bomb was found at the facility.
